2010
So another year ends, and another one begins. some things that I would like to achieve in 2010:
more writing. I need to write more; I miss writing of all sorts. I may even have the time for it this year!
improve my teaching. I always need to keep working on this. The day I think I’ve perfected it is the day I better quit.
cook more. I love to cook. If I do nothing more than make soups all year, I will have done something healthier than usual
exercise more. I love my treadmill and should use it more.
read more. Then again, I read a lot now
have more fun. Wait, if I cook more, write more, and read more–won’t I be having more fun?
contribute more to my community.
I think mostly it boils down to the PBS motto: Be more!

Happy new year! It’s funny, one of my goals is to eat healthier and cook more and I was thinking about this today and thought, “I don’t have time to cook” and then called bullshit on myself. I spend a lot of time vegeing out and being lazy when I’m working a lot and that’s time I could easily be cooking since, like you, I like to cook so it should be something fun.

Also, I keep thinking I want to contribute more to my community and keep thinking I will volunteer somewhere but never do. I used to teach illiterate adults to read, maybe I’ll do that again. I really liked it.

sounds like a good list, Rosa — would be game for sharing easy recipes if you (and/or Urban) are, as I’ve been cooking a lot more lately and have come up with some really good ones. I’d like to be able to read at all, never mind “more”, but the stillness is still too uncomfortable so am sticking with audio books.
Being good teacher — lifelong quest, right? Two of my private pottery students have had to drop out due to the economy, so am down to three now. Fie on it. Hope your glasses and your challenges go well!
Off to the gym I go.
