exhausted
It’s midterm and I have been exhausted since quarter-term. I have about 140 students in all my classes, and none have dropped. I have spent three weeks trying to wade through the weird maze of getting the college to pay to send me to NCTE (National Council of Teachers of English). I think I have almost finished that. I’ve also spent three weeks trying to convince higher ups that I am not in fact SuperTeacher, and that I cannot work 14 hour days and not be tired, and that teaching eight sections is ridiculous–and hire another English teacher.
In other words, same old same old.

I hear ya. Nice, on one hand, to have so much work in this economy but, it takes a toll. I woke up Thursday morning and the first words out of my mouth were, “I AM WEARY” — of course, no-one heard but the cats and they didn’t care but . . . I hear ya.

know what you mean — used to teach preschool and was sick all year on top of being exhausted. Good for you for sticking with it! What Urban said — yes, great that you have a job even if it’s a taxing one. Will be interested to read what kinds of lessons you’re teaching/giving these days.
Hope you treat yourself to a spa day when you get a breather.
